how did it start? three years ago as a stay at home mommy to the greatest boy ever, I had a dream to start my own business; yet still be able to hang with my little one. I began thinking about my passion for sewing and creating and wondered what could I do with those so-called talents? I began collecting fabrics thinking of handmade baby blankets, matching burp cloths, hand-knitted baby booties or maybe funky one-of-a-kind quilts, no wait....my own line of handbags custom designed by you....
yes, that was it....my own business, a la mode, french for 'in the current fashion or style’, where the customers put together their own favorite fabrics and the handbag is custom sewn by a la mode. handbags were designed, design sessions were created and the a la mode design consultants were born to show you how it is done. selecting from over 60 fabrics and 16 handbag styles you create your own unique bag!
i can honestly say I love my job, i love staying at home with my now: 2 sweet little boys. i will continue designing new styles and nurturing my boys allowing you to continue creating amazing one of a kind handbags.....all hand-cut and sewn in the a la mode studio in the small-town of Fortville right here in Indiana...
